Best Troop Types
Although Madeline has the Infantry Tree, you only need to take infantry units if you have a talent build for that (see below) or you pair her up with another hero that has Infantry buffs in their kit – none of the skills Madeline uses are specifically for infantry.
Best Hero Pairing for Madeline
Nika
Hosk
Garwood
Bakhar
Eliana
Theia
Nika deals great damage and as both are about infantry, they share a ton of synergy. Madeline is not individually with her skills about infantry but still a great pairing to run so you gain more punch and tankiness and I personally think that is the best pairing overall you can go for here (See full build here).
Hosk goes well with all the buffing the Madeline brings to the table and adds the crit rate so you gain a great setup there that deals more damage than meets the eye in the first look (See full build here).
Garwood along Madeline is the go-to tank pairing for be the primary tank in a Behemoth raid ot anything you want to do that requires a very tanky march. Garwood heals, Madeline shields and you deal the damage through counterattack (See full build here).
Bakhar is a solid secondary choice as you can hide the epic Bakhar and surprisngly their timing and skills work really well together which comes as a surprise to many (See full build here).
Eliana does shielding, just like Madeline, so their synergy is there and you can annoy the age out of opponents with that setup and also hide the fact that you run an epic like Eliana in the open field (See full build here).
Theia is a pair I don’t hate and they work together but there is not too much you can do. I rather have the feeling they’re not getting into each others way more than working together (See full build here).
Best Artifacts
Let’s now take a look at the numerous artifacts that you can possible use. We have tested many of them and some have amazing synergy and others are more in for the stats but no matter what artifacts you have possibly available, you will find the one that works best. Please also check out the full tier list of all artifacts here to see which ones are worth the invest in general.

Dragonscale Armor deals good damage and buffs up infantry DEF and goes very well with Madeline’s whole kit. Greymar’s Warhammer deals good damage and buffs up infantry DEF and goes very well with Madeline’s whole kit.
Best Pet Synergies For Madeline (NEW)
With the new war pet system in Call of Dragons it’s aso important to pair Madeline with the right pet to gain more synergies. Please also check out the full tier list of all war pets in Call of Dragons here to see which ones are worth the invest in general.
Frostbear
is the best war pet with Madeline in like 99% of the cases as you will get hit a lot when shieldedand then you will deal damage back which goes so well with her kit
Best Build
Bruinbear
is a great option if you have a fast rage cycle through your skill and a lot of enemies hitting you
Best Build
Sand Lizard
is also potentially a good fit as you can heal nearby legions if you bring more than one infantry legion to the party
